Leadership Vision- Part 4

Martin Luther King Jr once said "a man who won't die for something is not fit to live". Passion is not just about what you live for but about what you are willing to die for. The dictionary defines passion as "Any great, strong and powerful emotion", but in this context, passion can be defined as an innate quality of zeal that compels action in a given direction. It is an intense feeling that drives one into acting in a specific manner, a clear example of true passion as it relates to discovery of vision was the story of a man called Nehemiah in the bible.
When Nehemiah heard about the plight of the Jews and of Jerusalem, he shed tears and cried unto God for intervention. His passion drove him to seek his captor King's favor in a bid to rebuild the broken walls of the ravaged city and to restore the dignity of his people. Despite the constant threat to his life and to the life of his men, he held on to his passion driven purpose until he fulfilled his leadership destiny. Every man has true passion hidden deep within his being planted there by his creator, this passion can turn an ordinary man to an extraordinary leader if successfully found and meticulously followed.
Agnes Gonzha Boiazhin commonly known as Mother Teresa, became a teacher at St Mary High School in Kolkata in 1929. Soon she became the principal of the school. In 1931, she adopted the name Teresa and in 1946, Teresa felt an inner urge to start a new experiment to serve humanity. She started helping homeless and less privileged children with just five rupees and she ended up becoming an iconic leader. If what you are doing is not adding positive value to the human race then you are not living, you are merely existing. A wise man once said "Living is giving", what is your contribution to the welfare of humanity? True leaders are selfless.
Both Nehemiah and mother Teresa never heard directly from God, but their true passion led them right into the purpose for their existence. Don't live a purposeless life, locate that passion hidden deep within you, and you might just be on your way to become the next extraordinary leader. Stay focused and don't give up, purpose awaits you and greatness beckons.
